“Back in March Microsoft declared its intention to replace the Jpeg with its own format: ‘HD Photo’ (previously ‘Windows Media Photo’). There was laughter, derision, cat calls and now… silence.
The Joint Photographic Experts Committee (yup, the people behind the ‘Jpeg’) have confirmed that, following extensive talks with Microsoft, HD Photo will be the official successor to the Jpeg format.” – Gordon Kelly
